At Executive Kia, we’re always happy to see our favorite Kia cars receive some upgrades. The 2019 Kia Sportage recently made its official debut, with updates large and small for the new model year. Crossovers are popular right now and if you’re one of those drivers shopping for one, you need to give this vehicle a closer look.

The 2019 Kia Sportage is receiving a few exterior updates for the new model year. You’ll notice new bumpers, redesigned front and rear lamps, and some new wheel designs. You’ll also be able to choose from five new paint options. Inside you’ll find even more updates like a new steering wheel and even new upholstery.

The new Kia Sportage will also come equipped with the Kia brand’s latest driving assistance tech. Smart Cruise Control can keep you safer on the highway, while an Around View Monitor makes parking easier than ever. You’ll also appreciate the Driver Attention Warning system. This feature can actually detect when a driver is getting drowsy and warn them that it’s time to pull over.

The really interesting news concerns the European version of the 2019 Kia Sportage. Overseas, this crossover will be offer with a diesel engine. Those aren’t too popular in the United States these days, but what’s really interesting is that those engines will also offer “mild-hybrid” technology. It’s not quite the leap to a full-fledged green car, but it should make the 2019 Kia Sportage. We look forward to seeing if that tech makes its way to the American version.

If you’re in the market for a dependable car or crossover, talk to a nearby Kia dealer. We’re proudly serving Middletown, CT and the surrounding areas, and we don’t stop until we find a vehicle that’s perfect for you. We hope to see you soon!
