A few months after the debut of the 2017 Kia Sportage and 2017 Kia Sorento, it’s time to welcome the next new Kia model to your New Haven, CT Kia dealership. The 2017 Kia Forte has arrived at Executive Kia!The popular compact sedan gets a mid-cycle redesign for the new model year, with updates to its styling and technology. Let’s take a peek, shall we?
The changes are immediately apparent thanks to a restyled front fascia that gives the 2017 Kia Forte more than a passing resemblance to the Kia Optima. The car’s rear has also gotten a refresh that carries forward the aesthetics of last year’s model.
There’s a bit of news under the hood. One engine carries over from before; it’s a 164 horsepower naturally-aspirated 2.0 liter engine. The other two engines are new. The first of these is an inline four-cylinder engine that displaces 1.6 liters, found in the Kia Forte5. The other is a 2.0 liter Atkinson Cycle engine that replaces the 1.8 liter inline four-cylinder engine that used to come in the base model. Not only should it boost efficiency, it also raises the possibility of a Kia Forte Hybrid in the future. Transmissions vary by engine, including a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, and six-speed transmissions in manual or automatic configurations.
Also worthy of note: the 2017 Kia Forte will be one of the least expensive cars in its class to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.* And we’ve also received word that the 2017 Kia Forte has received the NHTSA’s highest safety rating of five stars.
The 2017 Kia Forte sedan is in stock now at Executive Kia. Availability on that and the Kia Forte5 hatchback will fluctuate in the days ahead and we’re still waiting on the Kia Forte Koup, so we suggest calling ahead to schedule a test drive unless you happen to be in the neighborhood (don’t forget, we’re located at 1164 North Colony Rd in Wallingford, CT, close to New Haven and Bristol,CT). We look forward to seeing you soon!
