Everyone here at Executive Kia loves it when another major auto show comes around. We can’t wait to see what kind of new advances or vehicles the Kia brand is working on. Sometimes we even get a glimpse at a unique concept car unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. The big attraction this season is the Geneva Motor Show and automaker showed up ready to impress. One of the most interesting things it showed off was a Kia Optima Sportswagon plug-in hybrid. This model combines the dependability the Kia brand is known for with the latest in electric car technology.

There’s a lot to love about the 2017 Kia Optima. This sedan brings a responsive transmission, a fun driving experience, and award-winning safety tech together in one impressive package. The Kia Optima Sportswagon offers all of these features in a striking station wagon. It comes equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, along with an 11.3-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The sedan version can travel 29 miles solely on electric power, so we’re sure that this wagon sees similar numbers.

The main benefit of the Kia Optima Sportswagon is definitely the extra cargo space, so the battery pack of the plug-in hybrid version has been designed to be as unobtrusive as possible. This model also offers a more efficient HVAC system and regenerative braking, both of which can help extend battery range. Naturally, this model also offers technology like Adaptive Cruise Control and Apple CarPlay. Unfortunately, the Kia Optima Sportswagon PHEV hasn’t been announced for the American market just yet, but keep an eye on our blog for the latest updates!
